Hukanui Golf Club Inc. was founded in 1935 – it’s come a long way from being a little country sheep grazed course with electric fences around the greens. The quality of the course is up there with our bigger 18-hole cousins and gives all levels of golfers a good challenge, and rewards accuracy.

 

We have a range of competitions for handicap players throughout the week and weekends. Our main competition days are Ladies 9-holes on Tuesdays, Men's Veterans on Wednesdays, Twilights during summer on Thursdays, and Open days on Saturdays for both men & women.

The club supports anyone who turns up on the day and can join up with whoever is there at the time, if you wish. It's a great way to meet friendly people. It doesn’t take long to enjoy the company of others, feel welcome, and feel like participating in future activities and competitions. Of course, you’re more than welcome to play in your own group anytime. Whatever you chose it's recommended you either call beforehand (particularly if you’re in a group of 5 or more) or check out the programme in the Events & Functions section of this website to see if there’s something on.

We have a great clubhouse at the end of your round to either brag to your mates how good your game was, or not so much after having more than your share of bad luck. The deck is great spot to watch players come in on the par-3 18th.

We welcome green fee players, both affiliated and non-affiliated, for both 9 and 18-hole rounds. Have a look at our range of good value memberships from Full Playing to Social in the Membership & Green Fees section. We can accommodate something to cater for your level of activity.

For non-golfers we also have Footgolf. If you haven’t heard of it, then this is a combination of football and golf. Use your soccer skills and play 9 or 18 holes. It’s popular and played by people of all shapes & sizes. From the more serious sportsperson out to get the prime scorecard, social & family groups, to the supervised juniors, this is a fun couple of hours for anyone. We can supply soccer balls.

We’re only 15 minutes northeast of Hamilton, just past Gordonton; and our motto is “to be the best 9-hole golf course in the Waikato”. Come and have a go and see if we’re right.
